The Stable Diffusion 2.1 demo from Stability AI, kept online for comparison: a 768×768 text-to-image model with a different text encoder than 1.5, stricter on artist names and more literal with prompts. Free, no account. Try the same prompt here and on the SD 1.5 and SDXL demos to see how the models differ.
Its training removed most artist names and adult content, which changed how prompts behave, and the community kept building on 1.5. It still produces good 768 px landscapes and photos.
For comparison and for prompts that rely on descriptions rather than artist names, yes. For most work SDXL or SD 3.5 are better choices today.
This demo is hosted by a third party (Hugging Face Space) and embedded here; it can be slow, queued or temporarily unavailable when the host is busy. Nothing to install, no account needed.
